How to print a page from Word on a printer. How to print a document as a book

Good day, dear visitors website! This article is devoted to the intricacies of setting up the printing of Word documents. - one of the most requested features in our time. After all, all documents, scientific papers, teaching aids, assignments, in paper form, have passed exactly the stage of printing.

So let's figure it out print settings for a Word document.

We have a document ready to print and a printer (MFP), where should we start? First of all, open your document, review it for any inaccuracies or formatting failures (text shifts, table jumps, etc.). After making sure that everything is in order, we proceed to setting up the printing of a Word document.

To do this, press either the key combination ctrl+p(English), or press the "Office" button, select " Seal"--> "Seal". Before us opens the window of print settings for a Word document. Let's analyze the print settings:

1. Printer settings.

In the drop down list Name Select the device through which you want to print.
After installing the printer or MFP drivers, this line may contain any Windows device, such as OneNot 2007. Therefore, immediately go to these settings and select the device for printing - your printer. On the right side, you can use the "Properties" button to customize the printing of documents. There you can set the page orientation, sheet size, print margins, etc.
The "Find Printer" button is no longer particularly relevant now, because Windows searches for devices automatically in the vast majority of cases, but it's still better to remember its location in order to use it if necessary.
In addition, below these buttons you can select options " Print to file" And " Two-side print".

2. Page settings.

These settings are aimed at determining specific pages (text) intended for printing. As you have probably seen, you can print all pages, current page(the current one is the one on which the cursor was at the moment the settings window was called), pages with a specific number(below is a transcript of the pagination so that the user is not mistaken). When printing a Word document, it is possible to print only the piece of text you selected. To do this, first select the desired text, then press Ctrl + P, in the page setup window, put the pointer in the item " Selection". If you call the print setup menu without highlighting text, this option will be inactive.

3. Set up copies.

This is not about spears, but about copies - we choose how many copies of the pages we need to print. If you check the box " Sort into copies", then the printing of copies will take place in this form: all pages of the document will be printed in 1 copy, then, again, all the necessary pages will be printed in 1 more copy and so many times as many copies are needed. If this checkbox is not checked, then the printed document will look like this: printing each page in a row as many times as ordered copies, then printing the next page, etc. That is, you will not get accurate copies of the entire document, but something like mixed copies of its pages.

In field " Type"You need to select" Document "- if you need to print exactly the document (in most cases). Field" Turn on" allows you to choose what to print: the entire document, odd/even pages.

5. Scale settings.

Simple settings - " Number of pages per sheet"- select as many as you need (usually this is one page);
"Fit to Page"- you can select the size of the document (A3, A4). If the Word settings prescribe the size of the document, for example A4, then you can leave the value" Current"in this field, this will mean that the size of the printed page is A4.

The "Options" button is used to configure the general settings of the Word program, and not for specific print settings, so we do not consider it.

If you need to view the appearance of the future printed page before printing, this can be done using the " Preview". To call the function, press the button " office"choose" Seal"--> "Preview". It may be convenient for you to bring this function to the quick access panel. To do this, click on the panel icon

Printing Documents

This subsection covers the following topics:

Preparing a document for printing;

Print settings;

Printing out a document.

I created a document background, but Word won't print it. Why?

That's right - the background of the document should not be printed, it is set only for display on the screen. If you want background colors, lettering or drawings to be printed, do the following.

2. Go to the Screen section.

3. In the Print Options area, check the Print background colors and patterns box (Fig. 11.94).

Rice. 11.94. Check box Print background colors and patterns

When previewing before printing, I saw that the last page had only a few lines of text. Is there any way to compress the text so that it doesn't go to a new page?

To do this, there is the Shrink per page command, which is available in print preview mode (Fig. 11.95).

Rice. 11.95. Shrink per page button

To switch to this mode, execute the command Print -> Preview of the Office button menu (Fig. 11.96).

Rice. 11.96. Print command -> Office button menu preview

Headers and footers are displayed in preview mode, but are not printed. What to do?

Try repositioning them on the page - your printer may not print them because they are too close to the edge of the page. To do this, do the following.

1. Go to the Page Layout tab, and then click on the button located in the lower right corner of the Page Setup group (Fig. 11.97).

Rice. 11.97. Button to open the Page Setup window

2. In the window that opens, select the Paper Source tab.

3. Increase the margins to the header and to the footer in the From edge area (Fig. 11.98).

Rice. 11.98. Header and footer position options

4. Press the OK button to confirm the changes.

Why aren't line numbers printed?

To ensure that line numbers are printed, check the document margin settings. Page numbers are usually printed on the left margin of the document, and if it is too small, the numbers may not print. In this case, do the following.

2. On the Fields tab, increase the value of the left margin of the document (Fig. 11.99).

Rice. 11.99. Setting the left margin of the document

3. Click OK to confirm the change to the field value.

If the numbers still don't print after this, try reducing the space between the line numbers and the text. To do this, do the following.

1. Go to the Page Layout tab and click on the button located in the lower right corner of the Page Setup group (see Figure 11.97).

2. Click the Paper Source tab and click the Line Numbering button.

3. In the window that appears (Fig. 11.100), decrease the numerical value in the From text field.

Rice. 11.100. Line numbering window

4. Press the OK button to confirm the value change.

Why are the drawings not printing?

The problem may be that the printing of graphic elements is not specified in the print settings. To check this, do the following.

1. Open the Word Options window by clicking on the Office menu button of the same name.

2. Go to the Screen section.

3. Check if the Print pictures created in Word check box is selected in the Print Options area. Install it if it is removed.

4. Go to the Additional section.

5. Also check if the Print field codes instead of their values check box is cleared in the Print area. Remove it if it is installed.

6. Press the OK button to confirm the changes.

It is possible that your computer does not have enough system resources to print graphics. Try the following:

Close all applications except Microsoft Word;

Restart your computer;

Print the document on another computer.

Hello everyone, my dears! Just yesterday, I realized such a thing that many of my readers are very poorly versed in computers. That is, I’m talking here about how to make money using the Internet, about some cool services for saving money on travel, but it’s all like a wall of peas, because computers are a dark forest for some of my guests.

So today I decided to correct this omission and start with a very detailed story about how to print text on a computer. So...

In this article:

1. Program for working with text

To create a text electronic document, there are special programs. It is they that allow you to print the text, that is, create a document layout in electronic form, which can then be printed on a computer or dropped onto a USB flash drive.

There are a huge number of such programs, but there are only a few of the most popular.

1 — Microsoft Office Word
2 — wordpad
3 - Writer (rarely used, must be installed separately).

2. How to find the right program on your computer

I know from my family that the most difficult thing for a beginner at the first stage is to find and open these programs.

To cope with this task, you must imagine what the program icons look like. Most often it is a document icon with the letter W, or, as in the latter case, with the letter A(as the WordPad program is designated):

Look carefully at the desktop and the toolbar below, programs can be placed in a prominent place, like on my desktop (by the way, here it is, don't be scared):

If you did not find anything, then try the second method:

1 - launch the panel Start or just click on the round icon in the lower left corner, a menu will open.

In it you need to find a field for searching files, I have it called Find programs and files:

Enter the name of the program you are looking for in this field. For example, I enter the word Word and get Microsoft Office Word programs:

If I enter the word WordPad, then it will find this program for me:

After that, you simply click on the found program, and a working window opens in front of you, in which you can create a document: print text, edit it and save it.

3. Working with a document and editing text

So, in front of you is a workspace, the so-called blank slate. It is here that you can type text, edit it as you please.

Usually beginners, at the sight of this sheet and a huge number of buttons, are lost and do not know what to do. Most of all, the keyboard causes an explosion of the brain: it is not clear where and what to press.

So, there is no need to be afraid of this, you will definitely be able to figure it out. To do this, just watch this informative video, everything is very simple and the main features of the program are explained in detail.

Be sure to watch this informative video from beginning to end, while not forgetting to repeat all the steps after the host. This will take you a giant step towards learning text editors.

Then you will only have to practice, and then you will be able to navigate literally in any text programs, since they are all arranged in approximately the same way.

4. How to save text

Once you have created your document, you can save it. To do this, find in the upper left corner the button that brings up the menu, and in this menu select Save as and any suitable format, for example Word Document:

A window will appear in which you can choose:

  1. where to save the file (I usually choose Desktop,
  2. how to name the file (enter any suitable name),
  3. and file format (I do not change it, I leave it by default).

Ready! This file will now appear on the desktop of your computer.

With this document, you can do whatever you want. For example, throw it on a USB flash drive, send it by e-mail, open it for further editing, or delete it.

By the way, if you are working on a large document, I recommend that you make intermediate saves. And the more often, the better.

5. How to transfer a text file to a USB flash drive

Everything is very simple.

1. Insert the flash drive into your computer.

2. On your desktop, find and open My computer(or simply Computer).

3. In the window that opens, you should see Removable drive, click on it 2 times:

An empty window will open for us, which we will leave for now:

4. Now find our text file, we saved it with you in the previous paragraph on the desktop. Click on it with the RIGHT mouse button, and in the menu that appears, select Copy:

5. Now go back to the removable disk that we just opened in step 3, click on the free field with the RIGHT mouse button and select Insert:

The document will be copied and appear in this field:

Everything, now the flash drive can be removed from the computer.

6. How to print a document on a printer

Let's say you have a printer, it is already connected to your computer and configured properly. I will not talk about connecting the printer and settings now, since this is a topic for a separate article.

But if you already have everything set up, you can print a document in just 2 clicks. But first, make sure the printer is turned on and that it has the required amount of paper.

1. Open the document you want to print:

2 . Find and open the menu in the upper left corner and select from it Seal, and then again Seal:

You will see a window with a bunch of settings, but do not be afraid of them, they are all quite simple.

Here you can select a printer if you have more than one, the number of copies of the document, sheet format, print color, and so on.

But if you don't need any specific settings, you can leave everything as default and just click OK.

The printer will start printing and you will receive your document. By the way, in this way you can print not only a text document, but also other files, the scheme will be the same.

7. Become a “YOU” with a computer and improve your life

Not having a common language with a computer today is a big problem. If 5 years ago it was forgivable not to be able to work with technology, today it turns into a huge obstacle for every beginner. This is because almost any profession today in one way or another comes into contact with a computer.

When I worked at a large military enterprise, we installed a new version of the design program. It didn't cause any problems for me, just a new shell.

This can be compared to the updated packaging of my favorite sweets: I didn’t stop buying less of them, but I was simply able to quickly adapt to the new wrapper.

But for many employees, this was literally a disaster, so much they depended on the interface of the program, and their brains so desperately resisted everything new. As a result, they were even trained to work in the new interface.

Today is not the best time for Russian companies, and I don't even have to guess who will be laid off first...

And quite the opposite example is also from real life.

The engineer has more than 40 years of experience, constantly develops and masters not only the computer, but also all modern engineering programs. They do not want to let such a specialist go, he is needed, in demand and speaks the same language with young subordinates.

This is just one example. Now think about how many opportunities the ability to use a computer to earn money remotely via the Internet opens up. Even after learning how to use a text editor, you can write .

Being with a computer "on you" is already a necessity today. No matter where you will study, today there is a huge amount of useful materials, courses, schools on the Internet.

This is where I will end. I hope that the article was useful for you, helped you understand the main points. Move forward, improve, be better. And that's all for today, thank you for your attention and bye!

Good day to all. Continuing the theme of the Word text editor, I want to tell you about print Word documents through the printer. This article will be useful for users who often use the printer for document printing.

But it will also be useful to be able and know how to print documents on a printer not only for beginners, but also for advanced users.

What do you want to say. A printer is a useful, irreplaceable, necessary item in the household. The functionality of the printer is to transfer information from the monitor screen to a sheet of paper. Whether it's text, tables, pictures in a Word document, after pressing the print button, everything will be on a sheet of paper.

1. An overview of the print function in Word.

2. Set up document printing.

3. Practice document printing.

4. Why does the printer not print a Word document.

Here is a list of the main questions that we need to sort out. After studying the material, you will not have to “bypass the printer” or ask friends to print documents.

An overview of the print function in Word.

Let's follow my lead. You can also open any document and study the printing functionality on your PC step by step with me.

We look at the screenshot. On it is a document that I prepared in advance for the article:

In order to enter the document printing panel, we need to click on the FILE tab and go to the Print section:

In the screenshot, I have highlighted the following areas:

1 – task execution area. It includes a Print button and a selection of the number of copies. Copies is the required number of identical documents. You can set the quantity using the buttons to the right of the window or enter the number manually.

2 – task executor area. Here we select the printer to print and set the printer settings.

3 - print settings area. The main area where we configure the print settings of the document.

4 - preview area. Here we observe the document visually. Since all the contents of the document will be located on the sheet.

5 - view navigation area. The number of pages is indicated here and all of them can be viewed by clicking on the triangle.

Set up document printing.

Now let's turn our attention to the print settings area.

Screenshot #1:

Here we select the connected printer. The word - Ready, means the printer is ready to work.

Screenshot #2:

Page print settings section. Here we will be interested only in selected areas.

Print all pages. When this option is selected, all pages in the document will be printed.

Print the current page. Prints the page that is displayed in the preview area.

Print custom range. The pages whose numbers have been entered in the page range box will be printed:

Example: print page 1 to 5. Need to enter: 1,2,3.4,5 or 1-5

Print even and odd pages. Select the even pages first, after printing, flip through the printed stack and select the odd pages. An example of two-sided printing.

Screenshot #3:

Single-sided or double-sided printing function. When you select duplex printing. At the end of the first pass, a window with actions for printing on the second side will pop up. Here everything will depend on the modification of the printer.

Screenshot #4:

It is very convenient if you are printing a document in multiple copies. For example, a document contains 5 sheets. If you choose option 1,2,3, then the documents will be printed in order: the first copy is 1,2,3,4,5, the second copy is 1,2,3,4,5, etc. If you choose option 111, 222, 333. Then the document will look like 1 page 5 copies, 2 pages 5 copies, etc.

Screenshot #5:

Select page orientation. This step is useless if you are printing a finished document. If you are printing a draft, then you can choose one of the options for more space saving or visual display.

Screenshot #6:

Choice of sheet format. Everything should be clear here. If you print on A3 format, then, accordingly, in this paragraph, you must select A3. Otherwise, what is printed will not be displayed correctly on the sheet.

Screenshot #7:

Field settings. The item is also useless if you are printing a finished document. When printing a draft, you can get confused by the margins to save paper.

Screenshot #8:

Select pages on a sheet. The same useful thing, but only for printing a draft. Here on 1 sheet you can place up to 16 pages. It's cool if you print, for example, cheat sheets.

All! We ran through the settings, I think that everything is written clearly and intelligibly, if you have any questions, write in the comments.

The practice of printing a document.

Here everything is simple. After setting up the document, click on the print button. And the printed document should appear in the printer tray. We look at the result, correct if necessary. And we repeat the whole procedure. Be sure to turn on the printer and load paper.

To quickly print a document, you can use the keyboard shortcut on your computer - Ctrl + P. The letter "P" in the Latin layout.

Why does the printer not print a Word document.

Yes, and it happens! I press print, but the printer does not print. In this case it is necessary:

1. Check the connection of the printer to the computer.

2. Make sure the printer is turned on.

3. In the printer selection area, make sure you have selected the correct printer. And there is an inscription Ready.

If the printer is not selected, then go to the start menu, select the toolbar. See screenshot:

4. Making the document ready for editing. We look at the picture:

Here we click on the "Protect Document" button and select the "Allow editing" item.

5. If all of the above did not help, then do the following.

In the document, click on the "File" tab, select the "Options" item. In the parameters, select the "Advanced" item and look for the "Print" section. And remove the checkmark from the item "Background printing". See screenshot: 12

If all this does not help, then reinstall the drivers. Reboot the computer and printer. If AGAIN did not help. Then we copy the contents of the document into a new document and try again.

In conclusion, I will say that the printer is really a COOL thing. And not necessarily only for office workers, but also for students and pupils. Or, for example, it's nice to print a bunch of coloring pages for a small child. And on this topic, you can read an article that will undoubtedly surprise you with the capabilities of a conventional printer.

As you can see, the printer is of great importance in today's society. The average price of the simplest printer is from 1500 tr. and more. So nowadays this pleasure is available to most users.

I hope that the article was useful and easy to understand. Share your experience and leave feedback about the material. I tried to give out the material, and I will be pleased to see comments from you.
